6 Months Today!

Well, today we celebrate 6 months of Ellie! And yes, I mean 6 months "of" her. What a little pistol. A delightful pistol! I have discovered new things about Ellie recently. Have I mentioned that she is busy....B U S Y! She is happiest when out and about now that she is walking. She LOVES slides. Even really big ones. We went to an indoor playground type place the other day and she will try anything. Her favorite game is for us to hide and then jump out at her. Sarah's beau, Chris, came over for dinner last night and at first she was standoffish, which is her typical attitude, but then she realized who he was and they were fast friends again. She was all over him and played the "hide from me, jump out at me" game for a long time. Davie did not enjoy sharing Chris with Ellie at all. She kept trying to get his attention by bossing him around...doesn't work so well...gotta teach the girl that "sweet" works much better than bossy. (some sort of saying of drawing bees with honey or some such thing, comes to mind) Anyway, all in all we are all adjusting, yes, we continue to adjust. I realized the other day as I was absolutely stumped over how to have a schedule with a toddler around, that it has been 17 years since I've had two small children in my home at the same time. 17 years! Catherine was all alone in her toddlerhood and was certainly the reigning princess during that time. Then Davie was all alone for 4 years so that was a breeze. It goes all the way back to Sarah and Matt for me and they were the exact same age difference as Davie and Ellie. All that to say that I am still adjusting and trying to figure out how to do this with two. You'd think I'd remember, but not so much. So I was literally laying in bed trying to figure out how to do this again. Don't feel sorry for me though, I will persevere :). Oh, I had an out of body experience the other night at a karaoke bar....and that's all I have to say about that. Except that before your imagination wanders, no I did not get up in front of total strangers and sing a song from the 80's. Nope, didn't do that! As life moves on the Lord continues to reveal Himself and my absolute need for Him. He is good and gracious and gentle and sweet. I'd be nowhere without Him. May you all sense His presence and recognize Him in a new way in your lives today. Blessings and peace. love, jackie sue

The hardest adjustment for me I think - I have found it takes way longer to get anything done around here, having 2 little ones instead of just 1. Like weeks and months and "maybe it will just never get done" longer. I have never been so behind on "stuff" in my life. Ah well, it will get done some day!

Have a great day Jackie!

Hey mom! Oh, yes, I know the end goal, and it's I am constantly reminding myself that God has given me this opportunity and will provide. I have to stop myself from adding everything up on my phone calculator (you remember senior year of hs when I was constantly adding up my grades and formulating every point I needed to beat the other Sarah... and still didn't ... anywho .. maaaajor repeat of that except with dollars). Hopefully they'll give me lots and lots of hours at Universal or everyone gives me money/gift certificates for or clothes for Christmas ... and I make good deals selling artwork/stories or something. God will provide and that's all that matters. I'm not happy, though, that I have to fork out $25 for a stupid flu shot -_- They could have warned me beforehand, you know, but no, they pop it on us last minute saying "get the shot if you can." Well, since they're "insisting" (which is a polite form of demanding), I'm going over this afternoon to inject myself. If I do this and someone else still gives me the flu ... *mutterss, fumes*. Yesterday got better, I'm just so busy I can't keep my head on straight. I'm living out of my day planner because I can't remember what happens on what day and when *sigh* Oh well, it's just this semester. Turns out that if I register correctly, at least one of my London classes will count toward my major and another toward my minor (I talked to my advisor today), so that I can graduate in December with only 1 English class and 2 art classes required with a couple of electives. YAY!!!

I wish I were there to help with the girls--that hs to be sooo challenging, managing teenagers and toddlers at once, the double t's of doom. Hehee, I'm sure Davie will learn eventually--I was a brat until I was 11, so there's hope for anyone. I'm glad that you all had fun with Chris. It's so funny that Ellie's a little daredevil--you don't really have any of those, really and truly. How funny!
Karoake bar????? Ok, I have to hear this ...
Love you and miss you tons!

p.s. I think that pic made the shirt look low, I don't try to wear it like that ... that's a high tank, too, so I think it's the angle ...

Your posts are so sweet. Two toddlers are HARD. Even if you remember the first time!! I am looking forward to only having one toddler when our Chinababy gets here. I've never done it that way!

I totally sympathize with the scheduling! Sometimes I think the days at home are harder than the days out!

Love you, (he he)

Ya, I probably wouldn't get up in front of a group of strangers and sing either :)
Oh, it reminds me of the "Brain Donors". Remember that great band?

When you do figure out "how" again with 2 toddlers, make sure to make yourself available to give wise counsel to those still trying to not pull their hair out :o)

Love reading your blog!

Jackie,
I saw someone who reminded me of you today and it made me miss you. So I thought I would drop you a note and say hello. Congrats on Ellie, she is too cute. Just yesterday someone said they saw me in that dumb brochure from Crown College so Davie was popular once again! Hope all is well with you!
